The Florida Panthers have reasons to be optimistic after their Game 1 win

Barkov finding his rhythm despite injury

Barkov was feeling better today after taking a high hit in Game 2 of the series, and the Panthers are optimistic about his status moving forward. Barkovs presence is a huge boost to the Panthers, as he is one of their top players and a key part of their penalty kill.

Panthers defense continuing to shine

The Panthers' defense has been a major reason for their success this season, and that continued in Game 1 against the Oilers. Florida allowed just 18 shots on goal, and Mike Smith made 15 saves for the shutout. The Panthers' defensemen are doing a great job of limiting scoring chances, and they are also making it difficult for opponents to generate any kind of sustained pressure.

Looking ahead to Game 2

The Panthers will look to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the series when they face the Oilers in Game 2 on Saturday night. The Oilers are a dangerous team, but the Panthers have shown that they can matchup with them. If the Panthers can continue to play the way they did in Game 1, they will be in a good position to win the series.

We recap the week that was.

The Florida Panthers defeated the Edmonton Oilers 3-0 in Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final. The Panthers got goals from Aleksander Barkov, Jonathan Huberdeau, and Anthony Duclair. Sergei Bobrovsky made 29 saves for the shutout.

The Panthers are now one win away from taking a commanding 2-0 lead in the series. Game 2 will be played on Saturday night in Edmonton.
