Mick Schumacher, the son of legendary Formula 1 champion Michael Schumacher, is poised to embark on a new chapter in his racing career as he prepares to make his debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans in the 2024 season.

Schumacher, now 24, will be behind the wheel of the new Alpine A424 in the Hypercar category, marking a significant step in his journey beyond Formula 1. The German driver has expressed excitement and anticipation for the challenge ahead.

Reflecting on his upcoming debut, Schumacher acknowledged the learning curve he will face in his first-ever visit to the iconic Le Mans 24h race: "I admit I have a lot to learn ahead of first-ever visit to the Le Mans 24h race Schumacher like the entire 2024 field."

Schumacher's decision to join Alpine is part of the team's driver line-up announcement for its factory LMDh programme in the WEC in 2024. The German driver will be joined by reigning WEC champion André Negrão and former Formula 2 race winner Olli Caldwell.
