WEB Vasu Raja takes on Expanded Leadership and Management Role
Raja appointed American's Chief Commercial Officer
Raja to oversee Customer organization, global network, and other key areas
FORT WORTH, Texas (Feb. 1, 2023) – American Airlines Group (Nasdaq: AAL) today announced that Vasu Raja has been appointed Senior Vice President of Chief Commercial Officer. In this role, Raja will oversee the company's Customer organization, global network, and other key areas.
Raja has been with American for more than 20 years and has held various leadership positions in the airline's commercial organization. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Network Strategy. In this role, he was responsible for developing and executing the airline's global network strategy, including route planning, scheduling, and pricing.
"Vasu is a proven leader with a deep understanding of the airline industry," said David Seymour, American's Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. "His experience and expertise will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business and provide our customers with the best possible travel experience."
Raja holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Delhi and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
